Scope and Content
The envelope is a pre-printed envelope with handwritten details such as the address and signature. The envelope is entitled 'Active Service' and also has an Army Post Office stamp. Within the envelope there were two newspaper clippings. The first newspaper clipping is a long folded piece of paper which lists those killed, wounded and missing. Daniel McFarlane's name is in the wounded list. There is no date on this newspaper article. The second newspaper clipping is smaller than the previous and lists those who have passed examinations at Glasgow University. Daniel McFarlane's name is listed. A handwritten date has also been added to the top of the article dated 'Wednesday, Oct 8th 1924'
