• Administrative / Biographical History

  The new Institute was named in honour of Duncan Guthrie, Director of the National Fund for Research into Crippling Diseases (better known as Action Research for the Crippled Child). This charity made a major contribution to Ferguson-Smith's work in medical genetics.
