Administrative / Biographical History
The Naturalists Society was formed in January 1874. The objects of the Society were the promotion and study of all departments of natural science, by the exhibition and preservation of specimens, by lectures, excursions and the formation of a library and museum.

Open for consultation subject to preservation requirements. Access must also conform to the restrictions of the Data Protection Act (2018), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, 2018) and any other relevant legislation or restrictions. Clinical information is closed for 100 years.
Acquisition Information
The records were deposited by the Dundee City Archivist and the University Librarian in 1982. Additional material was deposited by James K Cook in 2006.
