Brian Budge researches the history of the Orkney War Dead on behalf of the Kirkwall British Legion. This collection (D110) is made up of hard-copy versions of the Biographies of Orcadian Soldiers and other information, which Brian has kindly deposited with the Orkney Archive over the years for the benefit of the visiting public

All the information can also be found on the Orcadian Memorials website at http://www.rbls-kirkwall.org.uk/memorials.html The website is a compilation of Orkney war memorials which is a database of over a thousand files, mostly photos but also memorial lists and nearly a hundred biographies, presented in the style of a spreadsheet. The website is dedicated to the many Orcadians who went to war in the 20th Century and did not return alive to their homes.
