Administrative / Biographical History
Calcutta Twist Co, textile manufacturers, Calcutta, India, was formed c1888 . It was partly owned by Champdany Jute Co Ltd, merchants and manufacturers in textiles, Glasgow, Scotland, and partly by Kinmond Luke & Co, James Finlay & Co Ltd, textile manufacturers, tea planters, and merchants, Glasgow, acted as its secretary, and after 1894 acquired the half share previously held by Kinmond Luke & Co. The company was still trading in 1903 .
