Administrative / Biographical History
Thomas Yulie Paterson commenced business as a brewer and maltster in Bridgeton, Glasgow, in 1884 . T Y Paterson Ltd, Pentland Brewery was established in the Duddingston area of Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1898 with the company being registered as a limited company in June 1899 . The company had been a Glasgow based brewers which moved their entire brewing operations to Duddingston realising the potentialities of the site. The Pentland Brewery was taken over by Aitken's of Falkirk in 1936 and subsequently closed.
