Scope and Content
Miscellaneous Inventory lists of the RSA’s art works have survived from different stages in the Academy’s history. These are useful for audit purposes for a number of items which can no longer be accounted for, and also provide helpful information regarding the specific location of objects at set periods in time. This series of records includes the 1902 valuation by D Croall Thomson in advance of the 1910 Transfer to the nation of key works from the RSA Collection, storage lists from the RSA Stores at The Mound from the immediate post-Second World War era, and the records of the most thorough Inventory of the RSA Collections ever undertaken, that in advance of the Spring 2017 de-cant from the RSA Stores at Modern Two (The Dean Gallery, Belford Road) to RSA Store at NMS Collections Centre, West Granton Road.
