Scope and Content
The material is composed of: notes of lectures on astronomy by James Gregory, Geometria de mota, Hydrostatica etc., and by David Gregory on Lectiones opticae; and, notes on logic.
Administrative / Biographical History
Francis Pringle was the son of a Border laird. He studied at Edinburgh University, graduating in 1694. He was at St. Andrews from 1694, becoming a Professor (Regent) of Greek at the University - at St. Leonard's College. He retired in 1747.
