Administrative / Biographical History
In 1971 a First Year Course was established under the direction of Henry E.Odling (Director of Studies: First Year Course 1971/72-1981/82). Previously students had undergone a two-year General Course but this was reduced to one year and students began to specialise from their second year of study. Originally housed in the former premises of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Agricultural Collage in Blythswood Square, the first year course in Fine Art has since relocated to the J.D Kelly Building and the Mackintosh Building.
