Scope and Content
Royal charter of Charles II in favour of William Barclay.
Granting to William Barclay, his heirs and assigns, the lands of Hilton Mailor (Hiltoun of Maller) in the sheriffdom of Perth, in so far as they belonged to the late William Blair of Tarsappie [Perthshire], or the late Thomas Blair of the same, which lands formerly belonged to Alexander Blair, now of Tarsappie, and were resigned at Edinburgh for a new enfeoffment of the above. Instruments in the hands of John Ellis (Eleis), dated 9 March last. Edinburgh, 24 June 1664
Administrative / Biographical History
William Barclay was ordained to the parish of Forteviot, Perthshire, in 1651, but deposed in 1690 for drunkenness. He died in Dysart, Fife, in 1696. His son Thomas inherited the lands of Hilton Mailor.
