The contents of this file’s documents include the official notification of the award, the official correspondence regarding the award, Sir Ronald and Lady Ross’s visit to Stockholm and the banquet given by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool to honour and congratulate Ross.

Items 1 – 18 are in an envelope bearing a manuscript note by Ross which reads ‘Nobel Prize 1902. Letters from Prof. Count Morner announcing gift of Nobel Prize Oct. and November 1902. Telegram to my wife, 3 November. Letter from my mother 16 December. Proceedings at prize-giving, 10 Dec. 1902. Address of Count Morner on that occasion. My reply at the banquet the same day. Record of the doings written by me after return to Liverpool. Congratulatory dinner and reception given to us by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool on 22nd Decr 1912 (sic). Photograph of cheque. Ross and Mrs. Ross by Mr. and Mrs. Watson Rutherford, Lord Mayor of Liverpool on 22nd Dec 1902, to congratulate on the Nobel Prize. Telegrams from King Edward and King Oscar. Also dinner from University College Association on 24 Jan 1903’.
