James King, advocate, lay-chaplain of the chantry of St Mungo, with the consent of Sir John Backadder of Tullialan, patron thereof, and of James Archbishop of Glasgow, alienates in favour of the College all the said chantry's lands and tenements, for the yearly sums of 21 merks, the usual rent, and of 2 merks formerly paid to the friars as burgh mail, and also of 20 shillings in augmentation of these rents, payable out of house in Stockwell.

Seals of James Law Archbishop of Glasgow and of John Blackadder of Tulliallan. Pendant on tags.
The seal of James Law represents an ornamental shield bearing arms: a bend sinister between in chief a pirced mullet and in base a dunghill cock. The legend is between raised borders: IACOBI ARCHIEPISCOPI GLASGVEN.
The seal of John Blackadder represents a shield bearing arms: three roses on a chevron. At the top and to the sides of the shield is scroll ornament. The legend is between raised borders: S'. D'. I'. BLEKETER DE TILIALAN.
The document is written on parchment in a mixed hand combining italic and secretary elements. The first letter is very slightly ornamented.

Blackhouse charters catalogue description: 'Charter of the said few tennement and yaird by James King advocat Chaplane of the said Chaplanry of St. Mungo in the laigh kirk of Glasgow with consent of Sir John Blackader of Tullyallan patron and of James Archbishop of Glasgow in favours of the Colledge of Glasgow for the same reddendo Containing in the originall few Charter No. 383 dated at Edinburgh 3 Nov. 1628 and at Edinburgh and Glasgow 28 Dec. the same year and 21 March 1629'.
