Scope and Content
The seal, which had a pendant tag, was lost.
The seal would have been the one of Duncan Campbell of Lochaw, and it represented a shield bearing arms: gyronny of eight (Gules and Ermine). Crest: upon a helmet with rose: a boar's head with a long neck couped (Or) and on each side a branche of roses. Supporters: two lions sejant gardant (Gules) armed and langued (Azure). The legend is between carved and beaded borders: S' DUNCANI CAMBALLE DNI DE LOCHOWA.
The document is written on parchment in a neat, simple cursive hand, with a very slightly decorated first capital letter.
