Charter of James, Archbishop of Glasgow, with the consent of the dean and chapter, in favour of the masters of the College, of the parish churches of Dalzell and of Colmonell with the teinds and the customs of the public steelyard, together with a chalder (6 bolls) of oatmeal yearly out of the mill of Patrick Multures Sequills. It is to be held of the bishop himself and the rent is for the maintenance of a bursar to be presented by the archbishop, or if he fails to do so after four months, to be presented by the masters of the College themselves, with the reservation of the stipend of the minister of Dalzell and of his church.

The seal of James Law represents an ornamental shield bearing arms: a bend sinister between in chief a pirced mullet and in base a dunghill cock. The legend is between raised borders: IACOBI ARCHIEPISCOPI GLASGVEN.
The document is written on parchment in a round bastard hand. The first letter is ornamented. It bears the signatures of James, Archbishop of Glasgow, Mr James Hamilton dean, T. Hay Archdeacon of Glasgow, Mr David Sharpe precentor, W. Wheitfoorde, Mr Crichtoun, W. R. Watson Cardross, J. W. Brisbane Erskine, Mr James Gillespie Killearn, Mr William Nesbitt Torbolton ect., and of four witnesses: Zachary Boyd, George Law, R. Stewart, Thomas Craig.
