6 diaries/notebooks of nature study by Isabella R Sutherland: 1. The Study of the Rocks, includes a colour photograph of Miss Isabella Sutherland in her garden at Pegal, Glaitness Road, Kirkwall 2. Cookery Notes 3. Notes on Gardening - including school gardening class 1926 4. Notes on plant life and botany, includes watercolour illustrations 5. Nature Study - includes watercolour illustrations 6. Nature Study - includes watercolour illustrations. Isabella Sutherland taught in various schools in Orkney including Stronsay, St Andrews and Longhope. She and her mother, Anne Sutherland of Stromness (an aunt of Mrs. D. Gorn), retired to Pegal which they had built for them when they gave up the farm of Swartland, Melsetter. She left a considerable legacy to St Magnus Cathedral especially for the benefit of the Sunday School.
