Administrative / Biographical History
Perth District Asylum was built in 1864, at Murthly in Caputh parish, by the Perth District Lunacy Board. It was transferred to the Eastern Region Hospital Board under the terms of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1947 (10 & 11 Geo. VI, c.27).
