Scope and Content
Statistics by hospital on cases of pneumonia and acute bronchitis by age; parity (number of other children by age group of mother); presentation (breech, transverse etc); ante-natal supervision; toxaemia; child (abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth, neo natal death, dismissed alive, mother undelivered, twins and triplets); morbid puerperium (diseases after childbirth); obstetric operations pre-delivery (craniotomy, caesarian, forceps etc) and post-delivery (manual removal, curettage, perineal repair etc); disproportion (contracted pelvis, large child etc); concurrent disease independent of pregnancy; complications of parturition; reasons for obstetrical dismissal (died, transferred, abortion and miscarriage, stillbirth etc); and disproportion (contracted pelvis, large child etc). Also case notes by hospital; returns of figures for puerperal fever and pyrexia for local authority hospitals; and maternal deaths by hospital for named patients with diagnosis with additional information by cause of death.
