Scope and Content
The volume contains minutes of fortnightly meetings of the medical staff held at Sanitary Office at which the District Medical Officers reported on cases of fever, the number of deaths, properties to be visited etc interspersed with the Medical Officer of Health's fortnightly reports. From approximately 1871 the volume exclusively records the fortnightly reports, being fair copies of the rough notes in D-HE/1/6/2 for the period April 1873 to November 1874. Also included are minutes of a meeting of Parochial Medical Officers to consider the epidemic of relapsing fever, 30th November 1870; a memorandum on smallpox and vaccination, February 1871; memorandum for the Water Commissioners, 10th July 1871; an attachment on deaths from all causes and certain specified diseases by registration district for October and November 1871; and a loose note on overcrowding and typhus (p202).
