Fortnightly returns of the Glasgow Medical Officer of Health

Includes Sanitary Department Glasgow - Minute Book for Medical Officers (D-HE1/6/1); Medical Officer's Private Notes for Fortnightly Returns (D-HE1/6/2-6); Medical Officer's Fortnightly Returns (D-HE1/6/7-8).
The format of the Notes for Fortnightly Returns changes over time from narrative to pre-printed reports. The information captured also varies but includes number of deaths; child deaths; comparison between districts; causes of death; and vaccination. Fortnightly reports were made by the Medical Officer of Health to the Sanitary Committee.
There is a volume missing for 1879-1887 which is referred to in D-HE/1/6/4. The final two volumes duplicate some of the data in the preceding five but not all, so they should be read in conjunction.
