  This is an artificial series created to include files that do not appear to have been part of any central filing series. A number of the folders are similar to those at D-HE/1/9 but do not have numbers and are earlier in date. Many belonged to William McKean, the secretary of the Public Health Department and may form his own filing system.

  One file was part of the Public Health Department Library where items were kept according to an alpha-numeric system. The original reference has been cited. Similarly one file is closed due to medical confidentiality as is indicated in the entry. The original file covers were not retained.
