Scope and Content
Maternal deaths by hospital for named patients with diagnosis with additional information by cause of death; reasons for obstetrical dismissal (died, transferred, abortion and miscarriage, stillbirth etc); parity (number of other children by age group of mother); ante-natal supervision; toxaemias; presentation (breech, transverse etc); disproportion (contracted pelvis, large child etc); concurrent disease independent of pregnancy; complications of parturition; obstetric operations pre-delivery (craniotomy, caesarian, forceps etc) and post-delivery (manual removal, curettage, perineal repair etc); morbid puerperium (diseases after childbirth); and child (abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth, neo natal death, dismissed alive, mother undelivered, twins and triplets).
