The suspenders allege that the miller of Provan Mill, a tenant of the magistrates, prevents a sufficient supply of water from reaching their mill by not opening the sluices, except at night. The judges are of the opinion that the suspenders have no cause for complaint against the magistrates, as they were aware of the clauses of their agreement before signing it. However, if the tenant of Provan Mill has acted tortiously, they can get redress at common law.
