Administrative / Biographical History
Hazel Armour was born in Edinburgh in 1894. A painter of flowers, she is more widely known as a sculptor. She studied at the Edinburgh College of Art, and then in Paris. After her marriage to John Kennedy in 1921 she retained studios in both Edinburgh and London, visiting South Africa twice to make studies of tribal heads. She was commissioned to design 'The Tunnellers' Friends' panel in the Scottish National War Memorial. She exhibited at the RSA between 1914 and 1961, and died in 1985.
