  Contract for Robert Gilbert to go "to Las Palinas or any other place in the Canary Islands and shall there superintend and assist in the unloading and landing from the steamer and in the erection and fitting and putting into working order of cane crushing and evaporating machinery". The contract was witnessed by two Duncan Stewart employees - John Lindsay, clerk, and David Henry Andrew, manager.
