Thomas Thomson & Co , Glasgow, Scotland, were operating as a insurance brokers and underwriters for the shipping and other industries from the early 19th century. In 1977 they were taken over by Lowndes Lambert UK Ltd and moved to Lowndes Lambert's address at North Claremont Street, Glasgow, in 1978 . It appears that the company ceased to operate soon after this date.
