Scope and Content
A bound volume of photographs mounted within a photograph album, with inscription "To Mrs Campbell from AB. Reminiscences of a holiday spent at Davaar, Biggar Aug 1914". Davaar, is the name of the old Biggar Kirk manse, accomodation for the Church of Scotland minister. It was built in 1805 with 1827, 1840 and 1880 additions. It ceased to be the manse in the 1880s when the Rev Duncan found it too primitive for his family to live in, a new manse being built on Carwood Road and Davaar became a boarding house. It was later bought by Dr Archibald Campbell and had become the home of Alex Weir, plumber and family by 1901.
