Scope and Content
Pamphlet entitled The Scotch Peerage endangered in its Rights and Integrity Through the Attack upon the Old Earldom of Mar, on the dispute between the Earl of Kellie and John Francis Goodeve-Erskine in 1875. The article is signed by Alex. Sinclair. Also includes three newspaper clippings on the death of Alexander Sinclair from the Times, dating from 10 and 15 August 1877.
The pamphlet bears a manuscript note: 'sent me [sic] by Lord Mar. July 1877'.
