  Pamphlet 'only for private circulation' on the Earldom of Mar, giving 'a brief account of the crisis in the case of the Earldom of Mar, with illustrations from three almost contemporary instances of the necessity of obtaining feudal investitures with Peerages in those days, viz., the Earldom of Caithness, the Earldom of Buchan, and the Lordship of Montgomery, and of the total loss of the lands pertaining to these two Earldoms two centuries ago, without interrupting the continuance of either of the titles to the present times'.
