Administrative / Biographical History
Robert Smith was working for Arthur Young McClelland Moores (now Ernst & Young) when he was appointed official liquidator of Upper Clyde Shipbuilders in 1971. During his career he also worked for Standard Life, Alliance Trust, Bank of Scotland and William Collins, and was involved in the latter's take-over by News International in 1989.
