  This collection contains personal papers of un-named nurses from the Oswald family: a midwifery certificate and volume of lecture notes. Items from two generations of the women of the Oswald family from Edinburgh.

  The Oswalds were a wealthy aristocratic Scottish family related to Her Majesty Queen Mary. Two generations trained in healthcare. Mrs Oswald trained as a midwife and her grandaughter trained as a nurse.
