Photograph album compiled from the photographs of Dr G.L. Chalmers of a microscope presented to David Livingstone by Angela G. Burdett Coutts, in 1858. The microscope had been discovered in a poor condition and was refurbished by Barr and Stroud, the Glasgow optical engineering company.
