Bundle of correspondence between Pontecorvo and Professor Cyril Dean Darlington concerning some problems with salary for the Arthur Balfour Chair of Genetics at Cambridge
- Reference:GB 248 UGC 198/2/2/11/22
- Dates of Creation:May 1958
- Physical Description:4 letters, (5 pages)
Scope and Content
Pontecorvo's main issue was that he was told if he moved down to Cambridge to take up appointment to the new post in July (but did not take up duties until the new academic year in October) he would not be paid for those three months. Darlington's letters offer advice. Also included a letter from Professor George Edward Briggs offering help and assistance from the Botany Departement should Pontecorvo need it.
