Scope and Content
Composed of mainly black and white images, the collection includes photographs, postcards and some printed works. Images are on themes such as weddings of local individuals, festival days and parades, in particular Biggar Gala Day and Biggar Ridings; hobbies and societies such as amateur dramatics, curling and golf; local buildings and architecture; local churches; some military photographs. In addition, the collection features some images of visiting groups including visits by royalty, local encampments of 'German Gypsies' in the early 20th century, and Polish Soldiers stationed in Biggar during the Second World War.

Images collected from a variety of sources initially by Brian Lambie, one of the founders of Biggar and Upper Clydesdale Museum.
