• Scope and Content

  Farming diary of William Duthie, farmer at Nether Corskie Farm, Dunecht. Diary contains daily entries, recording his own work and that of neighbouring farms, details of trips to local markets, and accounts of weather conditions. Covers 5 October 1887 to 24 April 1891.

• Administrative / Biographical History

  William Duthie was born at Vulcan Croft Smithy in 1866 where his father was the blacksmith, before moving to Nether Corskie around 1878. He farmed there until moving to Upper Corskie at the age of 50, living and working there until his death , aged 89, in 1955.
