Design Lithographs
- Reference:GB 248 STOD/201/1/3
- Dates of Creation:20th century
- Physical Description:1.30 metres
Scope and Content
Colour lithograph images of finished carpets, which normally show the carpet, pattern number and name on one side and details of sizes and colours on the reverse. Many have been pasted into volumes, indicating that for the design archive the image is the important part, not the details on the reverse. They are largely undated and voluminous in number, representing the standard ranges manufactured. Loose lithographs appear to have been bound together and published as catalogues. This is a large series detailing thousands of carpets and are more inclusive than the catalogues. However, there is also likely to be a high level of duplication
