  Painted rug designs pasted onto pages. Some have annotations, including some dates, and a number have previously been removed from the volume, sometimes with others pasted in their place. There is a loose page inserted at the back. Inside the front cover is written 'James Templeton & Co, William Street, Greenhead, Glasgow, & 7 Skinner Street, Snowhill, London, E.C.'.

• Physical Characteristics and/or Technical Requirements

  This volume is very fragile, with the edges of the pages crumbling; the spine has gone; some pages are torn; and there is possibly some mould on a number of the designs. This item should only be produced after consultation with the preservation manager.
