• Scope and Content

  Volume titled Templeton Register of "Designs Bought" - Sketches 1897-1915. A record of all designs bought by Templeton from the 1890s to 1931. Very fragile document, the edges of the pages are crumbling, numerous poor taped repairs and loose pages. The document normally records the date a design was received; its Design No.; Designers name; and description of the design. It sometimes also records the price paid; its Pattern No.; the Quality; Remarks; and the Makers name. Occasionally contact details are recorded of new designers at the bottom of a page. The Design Numbers can be cross referenced with the original designs that have a number written on them in red ink and also (possibly) the Design Photographs. These numbers have been recorded as the Design Number or Title for those sketches that have red ink numbers. Non-archival inserts marking pages that feature Silver Studio designs have been replaced by archival inserts.
