Letter from James Garrow, Chief Constable, Perth to John Begg, Perth relating to a recent inspection of the premises of Robert Dow [Bee Bar, South Methven Street]. Informs him that he has no objection to the proposed work which consists of a “small room or offices for his own personal convenience”. Objects to Dow’s proposed “Family Department” adding that in Glasgow “. . . they have for years been doing away with Family Departments on the grounds that these places create too much drinking among females”, 14 October 1913.
