Letter from George Stewart of Kincarrochie to Patrick Miller, clerk, Perth bridge commissioners intimating that he will lodge his claim in the near future for the loss of his ferry which ceased operation on 26 January 1771; 1 February 1771.
Petition of Robert Ditchfield, tenant at the quarry for Perth Bridge to the commissioners for Perth Bridge claiming compensation in that “for these six years bygone, your petitioner has sustained considerable damages by having the ground for which he paid rent broken up, and the rubbish of the quarry laid upon his grass pasture”, 1771.
Tack between James Bissett, Perth and Patrick Miller, clerk, Perth bridge commissioners, in which Bissett agrees to let “all and whole that yeard or garden belonging to him the said James Bissett . . . lying on the eastside of the watter of Tay within the Parish of Kinnoull and Shire of Perth and bounded with the yeard belonging to the said James Bissett and to be sold and disponed by him to the said commissioners for an access to the said bridge on the north. The yeard belonging to the heirs and successors of Henry Will on the south. The tenement of houses of the said James Bissett on the east and the water of Tay on the west parts”, 1767.
Minutes of the committee of the Perth bridge commissioners concerning their meeting with John Smeaton, engineer, after his inspection of Perth Bridge, at which he lists nine directives “for the finishing and preserving the work” and also intimates that “he is perfectly satisfied with the execution and that in his opinion the same is performed in a very masterly manner”, 1771.
Memorial relative to the state of affairs of Perth Bridge which includes a list of sums borrowed for the bridge from various persons; a list of prices settled on for the purchase of property on George Street; and various claims for compensation remaining unsettled, 1771.
