• Scope and Content

  The letters are mostly to the Crown Agent and deal with cases against named defendants often given a lot of detail on the charges laid. The detail becomes less from 1839, when the books are wet letter copy process rather than handwritten, and are little more than covering letters for papers relating to the cases. There are gaps in the series from 1822-1823 and 1828-1834.
