Correspondence Volumes 1979-2007

Scope and Content
Copies of outgoing correspondence in a series of originally 82 volumes, in chronological order.
Correspondence topics cover many of SPAID/OEDA's functions such as advocacy, networking and administrative communications however a large proportion of the correspondence is related to cases of asbestosis and compensation claims.
Incomplete. The following 35 volumes are missing:
- vol 1 (? to September 1979)
- vols 5-26 (October 1981 to April 1988)
- vols 34-45 (May 1990 to January 1993)
Arrangement
The numbers assigned to the volumes of correspondence by the creator have been retained in the archival numbering system. If any of the missing volumes are subsequently acquired they will therefore be easily fitted into the system of arrangement.
Within each volume, correspondence is filed in reverse chronological order and (mostly) in alphabetical order for each day.
Access Information
Restricted.
These correspondence volumes cannot be accessed by researchers due to the sensitive nature of some materials they contain that must be protected under Data Protection.
Acquisition Information
Most of these files came with the initial accession of OEDA papers, but vols 2, 3 and 4 came with a later accession: ACC 1628.
