Administrative / Biographical History
Lilian Mathias de Proanca Taylor was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1937, daughter of Annabella Mathias Kilgour Ritchie . She started at the University of Glasgow in 1954 and studied English, British History and Scottish History in her first two years and honours English in her third and fourth years. She graduated Master of Arts in 1958. She then undertook a Master of Education degree at the University, graduating MEd in 1959, before commencing a career in teaching.
