• Administrative / Biographical History

  The Bursar, under the direction of the Principal, was responsible to the Court for the finances of the University and for all University buildings and properties.
  
  In 1990, the office of Bursar was replaced by the office of Director of Finance.

  The Finance Office was established in 1990. It replaced the office of Bursar. It was responsible for the day to day financial administration of the University. It was responsible, through the Secretary, for preparing annual revenue and capital budgets and other financial plans; preparing accounts and management information in respect of all financial operations; monitoring expenditure against budgets; preparing the University's financial statements; ensuring that the University maintained staisfactory financial systems; and providing professional advice on all matters relating to financial policies and procedures.
