Scope and Content
Letter introducing Mr John Douglas who has been an apprentice for one year in Burns and Russell's shop, has studied medicine in Glasgow for two years and is anxious to be elected a member of the Society. Congratulates Mackenzie on his position as Clerk to the Infirmary. Edinburgh Infirmary "is not at all to be compared in point of cleanliness, ventilation, accommodation etc. … but Edinburgh as a Medical School seems infinitely preferable to Glasgow."
