Scope and Content
A leaflet advertising Harris Tweed, including jackets in four different patterns. Front and reverse are forest green with gold writing. Writing comprises 'Harris Tweed / Woven by hand in the Western Isles of Scotland', the Orb, and the contact details of Harris Tweed Scotland Limited on the front, while the reverse is blank. Inside left contains various images of the tweed-making process and wording explaining the significance of Harris Tweed. Inside right is titled 'Just four Classic Mens' Jackets', with four images of seperate jackets over a variety of shirts, ties and jumpers. The jackets are named 'Dalmore', 'Barva', 'Laxdale' and 'Taransay', as in GD014/5/4/1/2. All are traditional, muted patterns.
For a period of time after Yorkshireman Brian Haggas's purchase of Kenneth Mackenzie Ltd. in 2006, garments made from Harris Tweed produced out of the Kenneth Mackenzie mill were sold through a company called Harris Tweed Scotland Limited, with a business address in Keighley, Yorkshire. Brian Haggas bought Kenneth Mackenzie Ltd. in December 2006, so it is likely that this and GD014/5/4/1/2 were produced in 2007 or later. The company does not appear to exist any more (2018).
