  Correspondence and papers related to organisations who have funded or otherwise supported the Harris Tweed industry. Many of the records in these files detail support given to the industry during the development of the double-width loom and the passing of the Harris Tweed Act in the 1990s.

  This series includes correspondence and papers relating to: the Highlands and Islands Development Board (HIDB) (GD014/3/4/1) and its successors, Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and the local enterprise company Western Isles Enterprise (WIE) (GD014/3/4/2), the local authority (GD014/3/4/3), the Highland Fund (GD014/3/4/4), Harris Development Limited (HDL) (GD014/3/4/5) and Lews Castle College (GD014/3/4/6).
