Scope and Content
Brochure containing details of evening classes at the University of Strathclyde designed to meet the needs of members of the community not participating in the University's full-time degree programme. Also includes details of the University's Learning in Later Life Programme, the Town and Gown lecture series, the pre-entry course for Arts and Social Studies, and the programme of continuing professional development seminars.
Administrative / Biographical History
The Continuing Education Centre was established in 1982 following a restructuring of the Continuing Education Office. Its remit was to liaise with both the University faculties and commerce, industry and national and local government departments to provide a comprehensive programme of continuing education courses for the West of Scotland. In 1999, it was replaced by the Centre for Lifelong Learning.
