Administrative / Biographical History
The Italian Chapel was converted from two Nissen huts between 1942 and 1944 by Domenico Chiochetti (1910 - 1999) and others. Chiochetti was one of the 550 Italian prisoners of war who were held at Camp 60 Lamb Holm during the Second World War. The prisoners worked on the construction of the Churchill Barriers during the war. The chapel was restored in the late 1950s and is open to the public.
