A manuscript account of a journey undertaken from Tottenham, Middlesex, starting on 13 June 1829 and terminating in London 31 August 1829.
The itinerary comprised: Aspenden Hall [Hertfordshire], Peterborough [Huntingdon], Grantham [Lincolnshire], Doncaster [Yorkshire WR], Tadcaster [Yorkshire WR], York, Castle Howard [Yorkshire NR], Malton [Yorkshire NR], Scarborough [Yorkshire NR], Whitby [Yorkshire NR], Guisborough [Yorkshire NR], Sunderland [Co Durham], Newcastle [Northumberland], Morpeth [Northumberland], Alnwick [Northumberland]. Berwick, Dunbar [E Lothian], Edinburgh, Linlithgow, Stirling, Rumbling Bridge [Perthshire], Kinross, Perth, Scone [Perthshire], Dunkeld [Perthshire], Killiecrankie [Perthshire], Glen Tilt [Perthshire], the Falls of Bruar [Perthshire], Aberfeldy [Perthshire], Kenmore [Perthshire], Killin [Perthshire], Callander [Perthshire], Lochearnhead [Perthshire], Dalmally [Argyllshire], Inverary, Ben Lomond [Stirlingshire], Tarbet [Dunbartonshire], Glasgow, Biggar [Lanarkshire], Selkirk, Kelso [Roxburghshire]. Although much of the material reflects the influence of the guide book there are observations on people, buildings and customs, of some originality and insight.
