This item was lost in the fire in The Mackintosh Building at The Glasgow School of Art on 15th June 2018.
Original: Donatello, c1416. Was placed in a niche on the north wall of Orsanmichele, Florence, Italy. Original in Museo Nazionale del Bargello, Florence, Italy.Acquisition Information
Thought to have been acquired in 1901 from Brussels. Listed in 1964/5 inventory as located in the entrance halls passage ways of the Mackintosh Building (GSAA/GOV/7/5). Cast is listed for sale in 'Catalogue Casts for Schools' (GSAA/ISE/5/8), however no evidence this was the distributor (D. Brucciani & Co.) or issue it was bought from.
